Mayor’s Message

<< Back to Council

From the office of the Mayor of Redcliff, Greetings and Salutations to all our fine citizens, visitors, Business Owners and future residents!

Welcome to the Town of Redcliff website. I served on Town Council for three years and was elected as Mayor in 2013. My wife, Sharon, and I, along with our first born son Bart, moved to Redcliff from Brandon, Manitoba in 1972 and have resided here for 45 years. We also have a son, Tim and a daughter Karen. We presently have 5 grandchildren. Alexander, Bryn, Sara, Payton and Benjamin.

Redcliff is a vibrant and growing community. As of the recent Federal Census, our population stands at 5,600. The Town is located in Southeast Alberta and has a common border with the City of Medicine Hat. For those who enjoy camping, fishing and skiing, you only need to take a 60 minute drive East on Highway 1 then South on Highway 41 to Elkwater. This Southeast area of Alberta boasts 2544 hours of sunshine per year. The fact that the sun shines in this many hours and the price of natural gas is very affordable, is the reason why Redcliff has nearly 200 acres of Greenhouses within our borders. One can enjoy fresh Long English Cucumbers, Tomatoes and a variety of peppers for most of an entire year. For those interested in building their own home, there are several good sized lots available in the Southeast area of Town, adjacent to the picturesque Riverview 18 hole Golf Course.
